Who is Falados and how does he have such amazing stats? What is a GameOp? How come he does not play? A GameOp is a server operator to control the players, and enforce the Code of Conduct (CoC). The GameOp has the ability to fine you of gold and ban, including IP banning, you of your character. Breaking one of the rules in the CoC may allow him to do so to uphold the responsibility of what the GameOp must do. So kiddies, don't make the GameOp angry ;) Oh yes, and why doesn't he play. Well because, obviously, that is not the point of a GameOp. If you see a character with a name similar to 'GameOp' it is a fake. What is blitzing? Blitzing is a term used when one will cotinuously fight their opponent. Why do they use the word 'blitz'? Blitz is a word based off the word 'blitzkrieg' and is defined as a swift, quick, and sudden military offensive move. Therefore the term blitzing somewhat applies to 'quickly fighting' and is used in the arena. Understand now? My opponent has left the fight (or even has been idle for a long time), now what? If your opponent has left during the fight, or has been idle for a long time, and has made no moves for 4 minutes or more than a 'Victory Button' will appear on top of the 'Do Move' button. How do I know how much go experience points, gold, hit points, and spell points I have in the arena, let alone the main page? For starters, in the arena, to check for your exp, weapons, gold, etc. look for your name on the right side, in the user's display window. Upon finding your name, right click and choose the option named 'Info'. In the displayed chat area, your character statistcs will appear showing your exp. points, gold, hp, sp, etc. What does 'GF' mean and why do people say it? If you notice, people will say 'GF' after fights, usually in Novice and Expert where fights don't end up as draws. You wonder why? GF means 'Good Fight'. Though it may not always be a good fight, due to the face you lose or for some other reason, it is just common courtesy and politeness to say 'gf' in respect to your opponent. So next time you finish a fight, saying 'gf' is a good way to end it. I've heard about rigging, what is rigging? Well, I knew this question would surface. Rigging is term used to define cheat fighting. You basically allow one person to always win, and another person to always lose. So that one may gain fast experience points or gold or both. I do not encourage rigging at all. and would suggest you do not do it. The GameOp will ban you... I made a mistake on my account, how do I fix it? Well, unless you have made a character backup, there is nothing you can do, sorry. Though, to prevent it from happening again, always create backups. That way, if you make a mistake, you can restore from one of your backups. Tip: If you ever come across a decision you don't know that it may ruin or improve your character and have no one to ask, make a backup before you do it. So if it does mess up your character, you have a backup to replace it. What is the difference between repairing my armor or shield than to buy it again? Well, after you buy armor, say for 10,000 gold, and then you eventually break it, meaning it's defense points are below 0 (zero). The best thing to do would be to repair it. Why? Because it is cheaper. It would probably cost about 4,000 gold to repair it, depending how much it is broken. So what is the difference between repairing and re-purchasing armor/shield? Repairing is cheaper, and re-purchasing costs as much as you bought it for. Common sense would say to just repair it. To learn about the phrase 'breaking armor', refer to the question relating to it. The banners at the bottom of the java server arena page get in the way, how can I get rid of them? As you may notice, your browser upon entering the arena is broken up into two frames. One frame is for the placement of the arena java applet and the other is for the banners that display advertisements. To get rid of this banner, you have to do the following. Upong entering the arena, click the frame that should include the banner. Before the banner loads, click the keyboard button 'Esc' to stop the banner from loading. If you did it quick enough there will be no link to lead you away from the arena. Although if you didn't do it quick enough, you may see no banner, but the link may be there. To fix this just simply refresh your browser and try again. How are spells damage calculated and what does '4d40' mean? To explain this I will use an example. Say you had the spell 'Mind Vortex (4d40)'. To break down 4d40, look at this. -'4d' This means the game is rolling four dice. -'40' This means the game is rolling a die with 40 sides. Each side would represent one damage. So the maximum amount of damage on one dice would be fourty (40). So if the game is rolling 4 dice with each one having 40 sides, the maximum damage you could do with the Mind Vortex spell is 160 damage (4 * 40 = 160). So this spell can do damage ranging from 1 - 160. This is how a spell's damage is determined. If you still don't understand, then here are two other ways to think about it... Replace the 'd' in '4d40' with a times symbol (*). So when figuring the maximum damage you can always think of it as an equation: 4*40 = 160. Another way to do it is... Just think every time you see that just expand it and say: 4dice40sided. So you know your rolling 4 dice, each one being 40 sided. If you still didnt understand please email me... How are attacks/weapons damage calculated and what does '1d14+2' with '1x150%' mean? To explain the answer to this question I will need an example. Say you used Gildern Quarter Staff (1d14+2) in combination with the attack, Power Slash (1x150%). First I will break up the weapon formula. -'1d' This means the game is rolling one die. -'14' This means the game is rolling a 14 sided dice, each side representing 1 damage. So right now the maximum damage the weapon can do is 14 damage, right? Wrong. -'+2' This means the game adds 2 damage to the total amount. Not all weapons have the addition of damage, but to cover the topic I added it. So now, the total damage this weapon can do is 16 (1 * 14 + 2). So the damage this weapon can do is between 3 - 16. Why isn't the range between '1' - 16? Because you are adding the two damage the weapon allows. If that was hard to understand here are two different ways to think about it: (1) Replace the 'd' in the weapon formula to a mathematicl times symbol (*) so that you can just multiply the first number to the second number to find how much the maximum damage the weapon will do. (2) Or, you could take the weapon equation (1d14+2) and change it into this; 1die14sided+2damage. Ok, now to add in the attack power. Instead of using the standard 1x attack, we will use Power Slash (1x150%) to better explain the subject. What does 1x150% mean you ask? You take the amount of damage the weapon will make and multiply by 150%, or 1.5. (150% = 1.5). So if the weapon did maximum damage, in combination with the attack, Power Slash, then it would do 24 damage (16 * 150%). If it's hard to use percentages, change the percentage into a decimal by moving a decimal from the right two numbers. What do the numbers in my statistcs (to hit, to cast, etc) mean? To briefly summarize this the lower the numbers are, the better your chances are to hit, to cast, to save, etc. To lower your statistics, visit the Nexus Hall. If you would like a more detailed explanation go to the tutorials sections and click the link involving the 'VQ System Explanation'. There it will be explained how the numbers decide how you often you attack, cast, how much damage, and so on. What do the letters by people in the casino mean? The letters next to the user's name in the casino simply signify their rank in VQ. For example, if they had an 'E' by their name that would indicate that they are an Expert. If they had 'GM' by their name that would indicate that they are a Grandmaster. N = Novice and M = Masters. When I delete spells/attacks, is it permanent? When you delete spells/attacks in your combat organizer it is useful to know that your spells/attacks aren't permanently deleted. They are just to get out of your way when your fighting in the Arena of DoD so you don't have to browse through so many spells/attacks to find the one you need. If you have questions relating on how to organize your spells/attacks refer to the How-To page in the tutorials section. I want to make another backup, but the game won't allow me to, why not? If you have all ready made a backup, and the game isn't letting you, then wait for 24 hours before making another from your previous created backup. How do you lower your bones in the casino and what is the lowest you can get? I have heard of a disproven theory to lower your bones in the casino, so this may not always work, or perhaps not at all. I have tried it and it has always worked for me, though try it out for yourself. Here it is: Disproven Theory: Go into the casino, bet the max Amount (800 gold), and then exit the casino. Leave the Vagabond's Quest website without logging out for ONE HOUR. Now, supposedly after one hour, upon returning to the casino, your bones should have lowered. The lowest sided bones you can get is 7, not 5. They raised the lowest sided bone to 7 because they believed it was too easy to get gold when your bones were at 5 sided. ,br> Also, if you have any questions on how the casino bones system works check the 'VQ System Explanation' page in the tutorials section. Who is Falados and how does he have such amazing stats? As most know, Falados is the creator of the game, David Wexler. His stats are extraordinarily above those of an average Grandmaster, but there is an explanation. Since he is the creator and designer of this game he may change his stats as he pleases, therefore explaining his never heard of weaponry, spells, armor, etc. If there are any questions you would like me to add to this page and answer or if there is some inaccuracy within one of the answers, I will be happy to add or change it, just email me. These answers were comprised by -Grandmaster Human Thief Fna-, but the questions were provided by the VQ public. Comprised 2002 |
